No Longer Homeless

We have finally found a home!  The only thing is, is that it won’t be done until late November. It is making these next few months in this small apartment torturous.  We don’t put away our clothes, vacuum, or clean in general because we know it doesn’t matter. We just want our new beautiful home now.

We had been searching for a very long time (starting while living in Provo). It has taken us that long to figure out what we want. We initially decided on a town south of Bellevue, and we looked at a lot of really nice nice homes there. But then we would look at the schools and they would be rated like a 2/10 or something and all our friends that live here said to avoid those towns down south. Then we were watching the news and saw there was a recent shooting at the local grocery store where we were house hunting. So we asked and asked and looked and looked and decided on Bothell- a really nice community up North. With Bothell came great schools and safe neighborhoods, BUUUT smaller houses. Much smaller. We just felt more comfortable knowing our kids won’t get shanked walking to the park.  We put an offer in a house up there and after the inspection it turned out it needed 40+ grand in repairs.  Some needed done now, some later. We countered back and forth and they lowered their price a lot but it just didn’t feel right. We had to decline.  We were so sad because it had so much space and a nice backyard. But when it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. We put in an offer in another home but got outbid. We realized if we wanted a home in the area we wanted we would end up paying a lot more than we wanted. So our realtor introduced us to new homes and we were sold. Well twice. We bought one and decided we should get a bigger one so we bought the bigger house next to it instead- which just had its foundation put in.  We ended up paying the same we would for an old house but we wouldn’t have to fix anything. BUT the only downfall is that our yard is small.  Thankfully across the street they are putting in a huge park with running trails and playgrounds, but still, no room for a pool.
We may or may not go every weekend to see the progress… They can really build houses fast nowadays.
So we will go on our trip to Disneyworld for almost 2 weeks and then come back and have to move within a few days. Total first world problem.  Mom? Help?

Looks spacious. Can't wait to see it in person.
