Indpendence Day

Eric and I went home to Oregon for 5 days for a little family reunion on my mom's side. We got there on the 1st and went to the St. Paul rodeo which was super fun as always. There was amazing food and the rodeo part was so funny- our favorite event was the one where 2-3 people had to chase down, saddle, and get to the finish line on a horse going wild.

we also went to the oregon coast lincoln city. it was sooo beautiful. you could actually go outside in the sun and not sweat from head to toe. we ate EVERYWHERE and whenever we wanted. we played football on the beach - youngins verses oldies- and we youngins won of course. lacey managed to stop every play of the opponents because she was rapid fire fast, chelsey was not afraid to take down anyone, literally, and brandon had touchdown award winning throws and my dad was the go to guy when they needed yards. hes still got it! if someone was throwing the ball to you and eric was within a 20 foot radius, it was guaranteed that eric would either block it or intercept it. we also had a huge bonfire and everyone told scary stories and had smores and lit tons of fireworks. It was such a much needed break from working so freaking much. my family is so fun really and there is NEVER a dull moment. One of the best parts was that our beach house was RIGHt on the beach- no one was in front of us and we were kind of on a cliff over looking the whole coast. the house also came with a pair of binnoculars- so we would sit on the deck and watch people on the beach all day long. we even creeped on my sister and her bf matt....:) (who graced us with his presence for the weekend donning his sweet navy uniform.) both my parents did it too!! it was sad to see matt go again. it was sad to say goodbye to my family AGAIN. but ill see them again in a month.

when we got to the airport to go home, we try to get erics plane tickets but the confirmation number wasnt working so we talked to someone and they were like youre flight isnt till tomorrow at 6 20pm, but her's is today at 6 20pm. We tried every other option there was in that airport to try and get eric to come back to utah with me but nothing worked. so i had to travel alone and spend the night alone while eric was still at home having fun with my family. it was our first night apart since being married and i felt so lonely. shut up. we still havent spend a single day apart since march of 08 and we plan on continuing that for eternity.
on the drive home from the airport from picking eric up, there was this guy in a black suv going crazy on the roads. he was tailing us at about 2 feets distance going over 70 mph. he then swerved around us and then right back in front of us looking like he was about to tip and then speed way off. 10 minutes later we hear 3 abulances going past us speeding ahead and when we get to where they were going, believe it or not, it was the same suv but it rolled/flipped over on its passenger side. there was someone on top of the car trying to pull someone out from the drivers side. we prayed no one was hurt but we both agreed he totally had it coming for him. utah drivers.
